For two decades, Beth has been passionately supporting change in the development and growth of tools and strategies that enable a stronger, more interoperable education innovation ecosystem. She believes in the need for a more networked education environment and is excited to be able to connect industry leaders, startups and governments to build robust and innovative solutions.
Beth currently serves on the Digitisation Council of the state of Berlin in Germany, is chair of the advisory board of Kids.Digilab.Berlin, and serves on the international advisory boards of both CoSN and ISTE. Beth represents the European Edtech Alliance in the EdTech Roundtable of the European Commission, UNESCO’s Broadband Commission data for learning group, and the Digital Transformation Collaborative. Additionally, she consults to the Council of Europe on the topics of AI and education and public-private initiatives. The importance of creating benchmarks and standards for new technologies to support secure learning environments is addressed in Beth's work as chairwoman of the DIN committee for the standardisation of learning technologies and in representing Germany on behalf of DIN as head delegate to the European Commission's CEN/TC 353 working group. Beth strongly advocates for interoperability not only of technical systems, but also of decision making processes and policies regarding the digitisation of education. As a cofounder and Managing Director of the European Edtech Alliance, Beth is excited about making the digital education landscape within Europe more accessible and supported and ensuring that digital education policy reflects the needs of the ecosystem. Recently, Beth has been on the special board of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economics in Austria, as an expert on the topic of the tender processes in "projects in the field of digitalisation in apprenticeships". Beth has previously been the Managing Director of the Bündnis für Bildung e.V. (alliance for Education in Germany): The interface between the German Education Industry and the federal and state education ministries and organisations. Through this work, she was also a member of the expert Platform, "Digital Future: Learning. Researching. Knowledge" of the German Digital Summit under the Chairmanship of the Education Minister, Anja Karliczek and Ms. Catharina van Delden. |
